This excellent anthology, edited by Ann VanderMeer, includes Malissa's story "The Heart Is the Matter,"; about a young woman in 1889 Paris who literally wears her heart on her sleeve.

In this fairy tale retelling, Rumpelstiltskin runs a school of manners for the princesses he takes into his custody, then works with their Fairy Godmother to match them with a suitable prince.

In the near future, criminals are offered rehabilitation into society by having their minds "ride along" in a normal citizen's brain. One convict in particular longs for a more permanent escape.
